Installing and Configuring Sirokai Clauses

Prerequisites

Sirokai Clauses is compatible with Word 2010 and greater.  It also requires Microsoft .NET 4.5 or greater to run.  The setup program will automatically download and install this, and other requirements as required.

Installation

Installing Sirokai Clauses is a simple process.

1.Download the software from www.sirokai.com.au

2.Ensure Microsoft Word is closed.

3.Save the setup program to your desktop or a location of your choosing.  If you want to install the program for all users on your computer you will need to log in as a user with local administrator rights.

4.Right-click over the setup program and select "Run as Administrator" and simply follow the prompts.  By default the add-in will be installed to [Program Files]\Sirokai\Sirokai Clauses.  In most cases this should be sufficient.  If you are unsure, please speak to your IT representative.

5.Once the setup program has finished, launch Word.  You should see the Sirokai Clauses button at the end of the Home ribbon.

6.Click the Sirokai Clauses button. The following dialogue should appear:

7.Click OK to continue.

8.From the resulting dialogue, select the location of the Sirokai Clauses database.  If you have not yet created the database, select the location you wish the database to be stored.  If Sirokai Clauses is to be used by multiple users, this should be a location on the network accessible by all users.

9.Sirokai Clauses should now be ready to use.

Distributing Connection Settings

The location of the database is stored within the following registry key:

 HKCU\Software\Sirokai\Sirokai Clauses

To distribute this setting, thus avoiding completing the above steps for all users, export this key and import it as part of your network login script.  Your IT representative can help you with this.

Settings

To access the Sirokai Clauses settings screen, select File - Enable Admin Mode, then File - Settings from within the Sirokai Clauses window. The following screen will appear:

Sirokai Clauses for Word:

 Sirokai Clauses for Outlook:

Click the ... button if you have moved the Sirokai Clauses database.

Administrator Password

You can also specify an administrator password in this screen.  This will allow you to control who adds or modifies clause folders within Sirokai Clauses.  Note that Sirokai Clauses does not modify any of the physical folders or documents on your Network - it merely displays links to these.  To restrict users modifying the physical files, the appropriate rights should be assigned to users at the network level.

Digital Signature

Depending on your security settings, Word may disable any add-ins from non-trusted sources.  Sirokai Consulting programs have been digitally signed and independently verified.  If your system only allows for trusted publishers, complete the following steps install the Sirokai Consulting digital certificate:

1.Right-click over the SirokaiClausesSetup.exe program which you downloaded from the Sirokai website and select Properties.

2.Select the Digital Signatures tab.

3.Highlight the Sirokai Consulting signature and select the Details button

4.From the resulting screen click the View Certificate button.

5.Click the Install Certificate button.  This will run the Certificate Installation wizard.  This may appear differently depending on your version of Windows.

6.If you are a local Administrator select Local Machine, otherwise Current User then Next.

7.Choose Place all certificates in the following store.  Click Browse and choose Trusted Publishers then click OK.

8.Click Next.

9.Click Finish.

10.Close down the remaining screens.  Sirokai Consulting should now be a trusted publisher on that machine.  To verify this, access the Trust Centre settings within Word and select Trusted Publishers.
