Launching KaiReceipts Monitor
The purpose of KaiReceipts Monitor is to allow KaiReceipts to automatically process the receipt when the receipt is created within Lexis Affinity.
Lexis Affinity itself does not offer much in the way of customisation of receipts therefore if you do not like the Affinity receipt format, you typically need to ensure that you do not print the receipt at the time of generating it and start a separate procedure in order to print your custom receipt format.
KaiReceipts alleviates this process by intercepting when a receipt is created in Affinity and automatically displaying itself, allowing you to process the receipt at the same time you create it.
Starting KaiReceipts Monitor
To launch KaiReceipts Monitor, click the KaiReceipts Monitor icon which was added to your Windows start menu when installing the software.
Firewall Settings
In order to use KaiReceipts Monitor, you need to configure your computer's firewall to allow notifications to come from the Affinity server to your local machine. This port number that KaiReceipts monitors can be selected automatically by KaiReceipts or you can specify the port via your KaiReceipts Settings.
Depending on your system configuration you will either be prompted to allow access to the program or you need to get your systems administrator to modify your local firewall accordingly.
Automatic Firewall Configuration
If your system allows it, Windows will automatically prompt you to allow access to KaiReceipts Monitor through your firewall. When starting KaiReceipts Monitor for the first time you may see the following screen:

Typically leave the Domain networks option ticked and click Allow access.
IMPORTANT: If you close this screen without clicking Allow Access, Windows will automatically add a new firewall rule BLOCKING KaiReceipts Monitor. In this event you will need to manually delete this rule and try again before being able to use KaiReceipts Monitor. If you do not know how to do this, speak to your system administrator.
Manual Configuration
To manually configure the firewall you need to allow incoming TCP connections to the KaiReceipts Monitor executable (typically located in %PROGRAMFILES%\Sirokai\KaiReceipts).
If your KaiReceipts Monitor port setting is set to Automatic, allow all TCP ports access to this program, otherwise only allow the specific port that you have specified. Obviously the latter option is more secure and is the recommended approach.
For assistance with configuring your firewall, please speak to your system administrator.
Note that you will need to restart KaiReceipts Monitor if you change the port setting within the KaiReceipts settings page.
