Report Designer Elements

 

Ribbon

 

The ribbon contains the most common actions you will need to apply to any particular field.  You can also save the report or reset it back to the Standard Report layout by clicking the     button.

 

 

Control Toolbox

 

The control toolbox contains the various controls which can be added to the receipt.  The common tools that you may need include

 

Label - this displays standard text or field values.

Checkbox

Picture Box - displays an image

Table - displays fields in a table layout

Line

 

 

 

 

 

 

Field List

 

The Field List contains the fields available to the report.  To use a field, drag it to the report, or in a Label control enter the field name surrounded by square brackets in the controls' Expression field.  For example "Receipt Date: [ReceiptDate]".

 

Properties Panel

 

The Properties Panel allows you to modify the appearance and behaviour of each control.

 

Sub-Reports

 

The standard receipt layout contains two sub-reports, SubReportItems and SubReportScheduleItems.  These contain the itemised receipt items on the first page and in the schedule respectively.  To modify these sub-reports, simply double-click on them.  You can switch between the main report and sub-report via the tabs at the top of the design view.
